Preserving the Indigenous Arts of American Samoa

WHO WE ARE
The Folauga o le Tatau Malaga Aganu’u Fa’asamoa: Art Studio & Gallery of American Samoa (also known as Fa'asamoa Arts) strives to breathe new life into the traditional Samoan artistic practices of our past, and to bring these practices into our present and future through creation, education, and research. Pacific Islander artists are thriving on our island and around the world!
ACTIVITIES
Folauga o le Tatau Malaga Aganu’u Fa’asamoa: Art Studio & Gallery of American Samoa strives to preserve the indigenous art forms of American Samoa and help those on island and around the world build connections through the art of siapo, tatau, and woodcarving.

CREATION
At Folauga o le Tatau Malaga Aganu’u Fa’asamoa: Art Studio & Gallery of American Samoa, we are dedicated to continuous education and creative innovation. Reggie Meredith and Uilisone Fitiao are constantly creating, and their work has been displayed around the island of American Samoa and around the globe.

If you want to visit our Gallery in Leone, American Samoa, or attend a showing abroad, keep an eye on our Upcoming Events.

EDUCATION & RESEARCH
The preservation of our indigenous art is dependent on the education of our community and innovative research. We strive to help underserved communities build connections with their cultural heritage through artistic expression. We also plan to become involved in future innovations in the maintenance of natural dyes and other aspects of siapo and tatau.
If you are interested in learning more about our art classes, check out our Programs page for more information.
